Blue Sky House

Mrs. Poole lives in a house where the sky is always blue. She teaches Sunday School to dressed up children in a cubicle. At Easter, they cut up faded colored paper into strips then make baskets filled with cellophane grass and marshmallow chickens. Every year, the purple and yellow paper runs out first, so one kid gets stuck with a red and green basket while another one has to take black.

At Christmas, Mr. Poole is in charge of cutting up used greeting cards. The pieces get glued onto shirt cardboards then stitched together with fat red yarn to make baskets filled with cellophane grass and oranges for the shut-ins.

Nobody knows where Mrs. Poole goes in the summer, but she is never home and doesn’t teach at Vacation Bible School. Some say she is sick and has to rest.

A little girl asked Mrs. Poole once where she goes in summer, but the only answer she got was, "I don’t think Jesus will let you into heaven if you keep coloring his face green. "
